Fertilization with Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium Affects Composition of Araucaria angustifolia Needles, Branches and Stem

چکیده

Abstract Fertilization can be a sustainable management practice for the maintenance of threatened species such as Araucaria angustifolia. Our objective was to evaluate elemental composition A. angustifolia fertilized with N, P, and K, how fertilization altered soil fertility. Seven-month-old seedlings were transplanted 16 dm3 pots, three experiments carried separately (one each cited element) in completely randomized design. Overall, tended accumulate nutrients differently among compartments following order: needles > branches stem. Application N reduced pH, boosted Mn concentration more 10 times, decreased P uptake, changed C:N C:P ratios. Increased doses led higher uptake rates but promoted reduction absorption Mg. High K diminished Ca, Mg, Mn, B, confirming antagonism interaction Ca

Response of Young Citrus Trees on Selected Rootstocks to Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium Fertilization

The majority of the citriculture in Brazil is located in the state of São Paulo, with a total production area of 700,000 ha. Trees are grafted mostly on ‘Rangpur’ lime (RL; Citrus limonia Osbeck) rootstock. Despite its good horticultural performance, use of other rootstocks has increased with the search for disease-tolerant varieties to improve grove productivity and longevity. Furthermore, the...

Canola Response to Nitrogen, Sulfur, Phosphorus, and Potassium Fertilization in Arkansas

Canola (Brassica rapa) is an oilseed crop that is related to broccoli (Brassica oleracea var Italica) and turnip (Brassica campestris var Rapifera). The name ‘canola’ actually stands for ‘Canadian oil, low acid’. Canola’s low erucic acid content differentiates it from rapeseed (Brassica napus) and is sometimes referred to as LEAR or ‘low erucic acid rapeseed.’ Canola seed contains about 40% oil...

Nitrogen, Sulfur, Potassium and Phosphorus Fertilization in Alfalfa When Are They Necessary?

Determining when applications of nitrogen (N), sulfur (S), potassium (K) and phosphorus (P) fertilizer are needed is important to maintain alfalfa yield and quality. The Western U.S. is diverse in terms of climate, soil types, irrigation water need and availability, historical nutrient use and alfalfa production systems. Therefore, few generalizations hold regarding the timing and location of N...

Effects of different nitrogen sources on growth, chlorophyll concentration, nitrate reductase activity and carbon and nitrogen distribution in Araucaria angustifolia

The southern Brazilian highland plateau is a mosaic of two contrasting plant communities, Araucaria forests and grasslands, both differing in the relative abundances and spatial patterns of soil nitrate and ammonium. However, we still do not know the inorganic N preferences of one key species in this mosaic, Araucaria angustifolia, the dominant tree species in the Araucaria forests and an impor...
